Street Outreach
The most important part of our practice is meeting people where they’re at. That means traveling across the county and walking the main streets of our cities and towns, visiting our neighbors with severe housing issues, and spreading the word about opportunities and resources in the county.
Food Delivery
In collaboration with the Sullivan Fresh Community Cupboard, SALT delivers groceries to over 750 people weekly who have diffculties accessing fresh foods for any reason–no questions asked–with th eunderstanding that we are not a charity, but a helping hand when times get tough. Bethel Woods
In 2024 our partnership with Bethel Woods allowed us to distribute over 2,500 naloxone kits over the summer months. This not only increased the community's access to life saving naloxone but also acted as a tool to engage people in conversations about stigma and harm reduction in our community. Come say “Hi” at the BETHEL WOODS SALT tent in 2025!
Age Verification Appreciation
In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and local and state law enforcement, we have been visiting businesses that are responsible in the sales of age-restricted tobacco and alcohol by checking IDs to remind them how important their success is to the success of our community in keeping these substances out of the hands of our youth.
Educational Engagement
In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and local and state law enforcement, we have been visiting businesses that are responsible for the sale of tobacco and alcohol to remind them how important their success is to the success of our community and to keep these substances out of the hands of our youth.
